Playing Football

It was really nice outside the other day, so we took the kids out for some exercise. Will got a plush football for Christmas, and we've been practicing his quarterback skills since then. He demonstrates those skills in this clip.
Not to be outdone, Anna has also picked up some throwing skills. Here she is showing off hers.

Awwwwwwwwwww...........

Some days I wonder whether or not I am doing all I should as a parent. I worry about trying to teach the twins everything they need to know. I compare my kids to the development of other children and hope that I am helping them progress enough. I don't profess to be doing a perfect job, and there are certainly things I wish I did differently as a parent. However, moments like this one let me know that Allyson and I must be doing something right. And let's be honest - could these two be any cuter?

Playing with the Twins

I know all parents must go through this at some point, but holy cow, it feels like the twins are getting older faster than before. Maybe it's just because they're starting to develop motor skills more quickly than before, but I'm starting to notice how they will mimic what I'm doing. That is making them even more fun than before (and scary too - pressure is on, Mom!). Here are just two examples.


I realize that these videos show just Anna mimicking. Will is doing it too; we'll have to catch him on camera at some point.

The babies have also gotten very good at communicating with us. They've learned (and retained and now USE) the sign language signs for please, thank you, all done, drink, and sorry (because sometimes they have to apologize to one another). William will wave his hand in front of his nose when he needs a new diaper. This was an unintentional sign, but it has become very useful. I tease the kids when they're stinky, and Will apparently caught on. He also gets very excited when he hears the words breakfast, lunch, or dinner. He'll stop whatever he's doing and walk towards the kitchen, waving me along as he goes. These kids are an endless source of amusement for us. I love them!

Fishy Faces!

Anna has learned to make a fishy face and will walk around at random times making this face. We've tried so many, many times to catch it on camera, but it only lasts for a couple seconds. Apparently our camera isn't that fast. Larkin, being the smart man that he is, took a video of her fishy face. Will watched Anna carefully and is starting to make the face too. These kids are so much fun!

Like Father, Like Son

Lincoln took this picture over Christmas break, and it has become my favorite picture of Larkin and Will. You can tell how much Will looks like his daddy in this picture. I love my boys so much!

Bath Time!

The babies LOVE bath time! I finally got brave enough to bathe both kids at the same time. Now that they'll listen and obey when I ask them to sit in the bathtub rather than standing and walking around, I'm willing to let them have a little more fun. Because our bathroom is so small, the entire room becomes a splash zone. They just got new bath time toys from their "Awesome" Aunt Sally, which they enjoyed during bath time tonight. We're hoping to get some good footage of that soon.

Wrestle with Daddy!

The twins love to wrestle - especially with Daddy. All you have to do is join them on the floor, and they'll both get really excited and run over to you. Doesn't this video make you wish you had twins?
